The Martha Stewart Show

Yesterday I was at a taping of The Martha Stewart Show. The show will air April 20. I don’t think you’ll see me in the audience as I was seated on the floor (in a chair of course) of the set and the cameras only panned the audience in the higher area. I was very close to the action but the camera crew was always blocking my view so I had to watch from the monitor over her and crane my neck. I also couldn’t get pictures or see the craft area since we weren’t allowed to get out or up from our seats. Bummer on that one.

There were no celebrities and no giveaways, double bummer. I was spoiled when I attended the show for the first time three years ago. We got great gifts then.

The highlight of the show was when Martha Stewart couldn’t get the dessert to release from the tea cup. She said to dip the tea cup into warm but not boiling water. That didn’t work. So someone brought out hot water and she tried it and that didn’t work either. Finally she brought out a blow torch and that worked but the gelatin part of the dessert had melted a bit. She was a good sport and was quite funny but you won’t be able to see this blooper on the actual show.

I love the set so much! I wish this was my kitchen.

This is in the enclosed kitchen. I love all those kitchen tools!

Love the organization!

Love the pan rack!

I'll post a few more pictures for another day. Stay tuned!

Happy Early Valentine's Day!

I baked these whole wheat, reduced fat organic milk cupcakes for my coworkers and my husband's coworker. The frosting was from a can because I bought some when they were on sale but have now decided to only make my own frosting. It just tastes so much better. The texture is also better when homemade. The recipe called for both vanilla and almond extract but i feel like they canceled each other out. I think next time i will only use vanilla.

Hubby and I are celebrating on Sunday the 15th instead so we would not interrupt our weekly Saturday schedule with family. It doesn't matter when we celebrate anyway. Just as long as we're together.

New York Magazine Weddings Event

Click on the image to go to their event site.

I attended one of their wedding events before my wedding and found it a lot of fun. They had sessions as well but it doesn't look like they are doing that again. It would still be fun to taste cakes and have mini make up trials. Plus a goody bag! It was a cool goody bag and I still use it. I'm so tempted to go just for that! Of course, it could be inspirational too, hehe.

Sick

Caught my first cold of the year. Luckily it's not as bad as it could be. I had a fever starting Sunday night into Monday night. Still a bit stuffy and my throat hurts a bit. Right now I'm a little drowsy from the nighttime cold medicine. Sometimes it takes a cold to make me slow down. It really shouldn't be the case. We all need some downtime or ME time once in a while.

This brings me to some self-healing books by Louise L. Hay that I have been reading recently.
You Can Heal Your Life (Gift Edition)

I love how they have such beautiful artwork as I am a visual person. It adds to the message from the author and doesn't distract me like I have read from a reviewer. I was looking for something like an interactive journal and that's how I found the Companion Book first and then learned of her other books. I'm still reading and working on them and listening to the CD version of the 3rd book so I can't say for sure that the affirmations and healing works but at the very least I think it will help me to have more positive outlook in life.
